When the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) Exhibition opens in September, Denel will take its place alongside leading players in the global defence and aerospace industry, marking an important milestone as the Group participates at AAD 2026 for the first time with the Department of Defence as its Shareholder. Taking place from 16 to 20 September at Air Force Base Waterkloof, AAD 2026 provides Denel with an opportunity to showcase South African engineering, innovation and industrial capability, while reconnecting with customers, partners and stakeholders and exploring new opportunities for growth. Under the theme “Advancing Defence Capability Together”, Denel will showcase flagship capabilities including the T5-52 and Badger landward systems, the Rooivalk attack helicopter, missile and unmanned aerial systems, advanced ammunition capabilities and the skills and expertise developed through the Denel Technical Academy. Denel Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Tsepo Monaheng, said AAD 2026 represents an important opportunity to reaffirm Denel’s contribution to South Africa’s defence capability. “AAD 2026 is significant for Denel. It is the first time we participate at the exhibition with the Department of Defence as our Shareholder, providing an important platform to reaffirm our contribution to South Africa’s defence capability and the broader defence industrial base. “Advancing defence capability together requires collaboration between government, SANDF, Armscor, CSIR, industry, customers, partners and our technical and engineering community. AAD gives us an opportunity to showcase what Denel has built over many years, communicate the positioning for the future, reconnect with the market and look towards new opportunities for the future.” Denel’s stand will give visitors an opportunity to engage with its products, technologies and the technical specialists behind them. As Denel continues its journey of renewal, AAD 2026 will showcase both the strength of its existing capabilities and its ambition to build a stronger, more innovative and competitive organisation for the future.
