In a unique mentoring project, Denel Industrial Properties (Deniprop) has partnered with a community group to help needy and vulnerable children, many of them orphans, in a squatter camp in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.

The 12 employees of Denel Mechem who were taken hostage in southern Senegal last Friday are in good health. Denel has learnt of this after they were visited by representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross on Wednesday. The nine men and three women are all Senegalese citizens.

Denel has officially been informed by the Senegalese officials of an incident in southern Senegal in which 12 employees of its demining company, Denel Mechem, were allegedly taken hostage. The12 employees are all Senegalese citizens.
